Cirrus Weather is built on a simple promise: no ads, no articles, no agenda — just the weather. We collect the minimum data necessary to make the app work and never sell, share, or monetize your personal information.
Your location is used solely to fetch weather data for your current position. It is not stored on our servers beyond the time needed to complete each weather request. We never track your movement or build a location history.
If you create an account, we store your email address in our secure database solely for authentication purposes. We do not use your email for marketing without your explicit consent.
If you enable push notifications, your device's push token and approximate location are stored to deliver the notifications you requested — morning forecast, evening look-ahead, and severe weather alerts. You can disable notifications at any time from the Settings screen inside the app.
Weather summaries and "What to Wear" recommendations are powered by Anthropic's Claude AI. Weather conditions and your approximate location are sent to generate responses. No personally identifiable information is included in these requests. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their privacy policy.
Cirrus uses third-party services for weather data, air quality, radar imagery, and location lookup. Each service receives only the location coordinates needed to fulfill your request and nothing more.
Cirrus uses privacy-first analytics to understand how the app is used — for example, which features are helpful and where errors occur. Analytics data is anonymous, cannot be tied back to you, and contains no advertising identifiers, precise location, or personal information. We do not use this data for advertising or share it with third parties.
We do not use advertising identifiers, tracking pixels, or any form of cross-app tracking. We do not sell your data. Ever.
